
Dr. Freeman attended the University of Illinois College of Dentistry for his General Dentistry and Periodontal Specialty Education. Since then, he has stayed current with the latest research, technologies, and proven treatments.
As an Assistant Professor of Periodontics at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, Dr. Freeman has developed and is teaching an advanced course on Dental Implantology for periodontal residents.
He was awarded a Fellowship in the Misch Implant Institute in 1993. This organization is recognized world-wide as being on the leading edge of dental implant education and technology.
As a founding member and President of the Lake Cook Dental Study Club, President of the Illinois Society of Periodontists and regularly attending professional continuing education courses, he is able to continue his commitment to excellence.
Dr. Freeman has two grown children and resides in Northbrook with his wife and their dog, Ozzie.

Dr. Koh attended the University of Illinois College of Dentistry for her General Dentistry, Periodontal Specialty Education, and her Masters in Science. The research for her Master's Degree covered a new innovative topic using growth proteins in regeneration of lost bone and supporting tooth structures caused by gum disease. This research went on to be published in the Journal of Periodontology.
Dr. Koh is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. This is a national certifying board recognized by the American Dental Association for the specialty of Periodontics. In addition, Dr. Koh is licensed in IV Sedation, which allows patients to have their surgical procedures under conscious sedation.
Implantology was an integral part of Dr. Koh's specialty program. The last half of Dr. Koh's 3-year residency program had emphasis on treatment planning and placing implants. As a founding member of the Ladies Achieving Dental Excellence Study Club, and regularly attending professional continuing education courses, she is able to continue her commitment to excellence. Dr. Koh lives with her husband and 2 sons.

We are pleased to announce the addition of Joseph V. Califano, D.D.S., Ph.D., to our practice. Dr. Califano is a Professor and the Director of Postgraduate Periodontics at UIC College of Dentistry, where he has been since 2004. Prior to that, Dr. Califano was a 14 year faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University, in the Department of Periodontics, and is a former Commander in the United States Navel Reserves Dental Department.
Joe is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and serves as an examiner for the Board. He has presented at national and international meetings on many topics including periodontal research, periodontal plastic surgery, and computer guided implant surgery.
Dr. Califano lives in the Chicago area with his wife, Mary Pat, who is a Recovery Nurse and Clinic Manager for the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at UIC College of Dentistry, and their son Tony, who is soon to attend the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.
